Position Summary

The Vice President of Stadium Operations (VP) will lead the administration of Forty Niners Stadium Management Company under the direction of the Executive Vice President & General Manager of Levi’s Stadium, including but not limited to construction and project management, procurement, compliance with codes and regulations, budgeting, event financial reporting, annual and quarterly reporting on operational and financial metrics. The VP will provide expertise in the development of the vision for the future of the stadium, as well as collaborative and supportive leadership of the ongoing facility maintenance and operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic and analytical process and systems management, including implementation of project management and purchasing systems and integration with file management systems.

  • Develop and manage budgets, including those that are approved by public bodies. Build executive forecasts and financial reporting for the department for events, administration, and capital expenditures in close collaboration with finance and accounting department.

  • Head programs to ensure that all codes, laws, ordinances, policies, procedures, and risk management protocols, are followed working closely with the legal and risk management departments. Ensure all building compliance tasks are complete and up to date such as city and/or state permits, inspections, annual testing, etc.

  • Execute maintenance and capital project planning, including continual infrastructure, system and consumer-facing renovations within the context of managing public funds and public works projects. Continuously evaluate the stadium to ensure it supports the ever-changing needs of stakeholders.

  • Interface and support operational staff in providing required services or all events.

Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements

  • Previous experience leading the venue operation of a top-quality convention, arena, stadium or other high-volume event facility. Experience in publicly owned facilities, with direct experience dealing with employees of public agencies, including providing reporting to public agencies, as well as experience with a mix of union and non-union labor.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively lead diverse groups of stakeholders and provide executive reporting.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing processes and systems. Ability to articulate and memorialize strategic plans to methodically accomplish goals and gain team buy-in for execution by entire department.

  • Financial savvy. Confident overseeing financial analysis of various alternatives, such as lease vs. buy. Experience budgeting expenses for a variety of types of events, as well as administrative overhead costs. Experience with fixed asset tracking.

  • Ability to deal constructively with conflict and personnel issues; to motivate, provide counsel and execute appropriate solutions. Demonstrated skill at hiring and training personnel.

  • Established understanding of procurement processes; experience with governmental procurement preferred.

  • Proven ability to ideate and execute capital project plans and deliver completed projects on time and within budget, working closely with finance, accounting, and legal departments.

  • Knowledge of and appreciation for relevant federal, state or local laws and regulations that may impact venue management.

  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of facility systems preferably in a professional stadium, arena or other public assembly facility, including experience with software platforms for tasks such as document management, procurement, time management, and booking.
