All employees are based out of Turnkey’s corporate headquarters.

Position Summary

The Marketing Manager will work alongside the CEO, Managing Directors and Director of Operations to support and execute sales, marketing, communications and event strategies, media appearances, interviews and speaking engagements for Turnkey Search. This position will also support all Turnkey Search events including the Sports Business Journal’s (SBJ) 40 Under 40, SBJ New Voices Under 30, the SBJ Awards, the National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics (NACDA) Mentoring Institute and Cynopsis’ Top Women in Media & Sports Awards. The Marketing Manager will drive successful events and campaigns through the utilization of great communications skills, a strong ability to multitask, and a "no job is too small" mentality. 

Essential Duties

  • Assist with day-to-day PR/media activities such as: content creation, media monitoring, writing, pitching, social media initiatives, client relations, planning and events

  • Coordinate and manage inbound press requests

  • Act as a liaison with the Turnkey Search management team for any press needs including assigning and facilitating interviews with its members

  • Respond to media inquiries and maintain relationships with media "friendlies" and create relationships with key journalists

  • Track and report weekly press mentions and organize press reports

  • Manage the PR calendar including creating checklists for appointments, event dates, interview and appearances

  • Assist with CEO and Managing Directors speaking engagements including creating outlines and decks for speaking engagements, managing logistics for engagements and onsite coordination

  • Identify and pitch CEO and Managing Directors for top conference speaking opportunities

  • Track invitations, RSVPs and assist with logistics for all Turnkey Search-sponsored events

  • Ideate, develop and execute social media concepts, content, and strategies to promote Turnkey Search

  • Partner with creative services team to facilitate the development of advertisements, social media posts and invitations for each event

  • Strategically identify additional platforms and/or initiatives to further promote Turnkey Search

  • Maintain and manage the events budget

  • Act in supporting the CEO, Managing Directors and Director of Operations at all Turnkey Search-sponsored and industry events 

Qualifications, Skills and Character Traits

  • At least 3 years of experience in media, agency or PR experience

  • Proven track record of creating and executing successful PR campaigns at a national level

  • Tremendous work ethic, persistence & passion for driving a business forward and increasing revenue.  A constant “motor” able to constantly rev at a high RPM knowing that the job will never be “done”

  • Deep understanding of social media and personal branding. A desire to be perceived as promoting Turnkey and yourself as a Turnkey executive (as opposed to yourself personally) with humility, modesty, deference and elegance

  • Proven, measurable success in the development of marketing materials to further business revenue objectives, utilizing databases and analytical processes to drive growth

  • Detail-oriented; highly organized and regimented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter and a strong team player with a proven ability and desire to work in a team-based environment

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills, with an ability to think and react to situations confidently with minimal supervision

  • Critical thinker and problem solver; creative, out-of-the-box thinker

  • Ability to work with employees across all levels of the company

  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude regardless of the situation

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, sports management
