Background

In 1954, Major League Baseball returned to the city of Baltimore, drawing more than one million fans in its first year and laying the foundation for decades of success on and off the field. With three World Series titles (1966, 1970, and 1983) and six Baseball Hall of Famers in Jim Palmer, Eddie Murray, Cal Ripken, Jr., Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, and Earl Weaver, the Baltimore Orioles are one of baseball’s most-storied franchises. At the core of the franchise is an unwavering commitment to the “Oriole Way,” an organizational edict that drives success through hard work, professionalism, and fundamentals. Today, the Orioles are anchored by established veterans like Manny Machado, Adam Jones, and Chris Davis, as well as rising stars like Jonathan Schoop, Trey Mancini, Dylan Bundy, and Kevin Gausman. Led by three-time Manager of the Year Buck Showalter, the Orioles are primed to make 2018 another exciting season.

The Orioles make their home at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, which is owned and operated by the Maryland Stadium Authority (Stadium Authority). With its opening on April 6, 1992, Oriole Park ushered in a new era of Major League Baseball: brand new, but still old-fashioned; state-of-the-art, yet quaint.  At less than a day old, it was already a classic. Inspiring a generation of ballpark construction, Oriole Park played a key role in the revitalization of urban America as new ballparks were nestled neatly into existing and historic neighborhoods across the country. In the 26 years that followed, nearly 70 million fans have attended games at “The Ballpark That Forever Changed Baseball.”

Unwaveringly committed to the fan experience, the Baltimore Orioles have retained Turnkey Search to recruit an experienced leader of ballpark operations, customer experience and safety to ensure that each and every fan who attends an event at Oriole Park enjoys a one-of-a-kind, safe, world-class experience.
