Background:

In 2008, Keystone Sports and Entertainment (KSE) and its Majority Owner, Jay Sugarman, launched the Philadelphia Union.  The Union became Philadelphia’s first professional soccer team when the organization joined Major League Soccer. Since the opening of Talen Energy Stadium in 2010, the franchise has brought life to the Delaware Riverfront in Chester, Pennsylvania and has become a go-to source for entertainment in the Delaware Valley.  In 2015, Keystone Sports and Entertainment recreated the historic Bethlehem Steel FC to serve as the USL developmental team for the Union.  KSE also owns one of the most robust youth academies in MLS, providing the Delaware Valley with access to best in class training clinics, camps and competition.

With the hiring of Chief Business Officer, Tim McDermott in 2016, the Union is reinventing the way the organization conducts business. With strong management, a state of the art facility, loyal supporters led by the “Sons of Ben” and an investment-oriented ownership group, the franchise is poised for success.
