Summary:

Reporting to the President & Chief of Branding and Strategy, the Vice President, Sports Marketing & Brand Activation will provide strategy, creative direction and execution for all Roc Nation Sports clients across all areas of business, including team marketing, brand endorsements, events, and philanthropic events.  This person will be a leader to and resource for the entire sports division and its clients, while overseeing a multi-person staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Passion for marketing and client service are essential to the success of this position along with proven successes in the areas noted below:

  • Lead all departments on marketing strategy, direction and execution for individual athlete clients, including public relations, digital marketing and brand marketing
  • Collaborate with brand partners and agencies to ideate global campaigns, maintain consistency of athlete image, likeness and messaging while effectively executing on all brand contract deliverables
  • Oversee creation of brand campaign pitches, recaps and analytics to identify opportunities for athlete fan base growth and new brand partnership opportunities
  • Creative direction on athlete projects including logo design, video creative, and photo shoots
  • Spearhead non-traditional opportunities i.e. playlists, fashion/lifestyle promotions, long-form content opportunities, and charity tie-ins
  • Media buying and promotional strategy for all Roc Nation Sports special events (including but not limited to NBA All-Star, Super Bowl, athlete philanthropy events, and more)
  • Participate in pitching new clients, from marketing material creation to client onboarding
  • Assist with development and implementation of events/marquee sponsorships; tasks include production, media integration, on-site management, asset management, vendor management and assistance in property negotiations
  • Interface and liaise with clients, as well as sponsorship and agency partners on a daily basis
  • Oversee development of presentation materials, pre-event materials, and post event recaps for sponsors
  • Lead marketing and sponsorship activation/servicing on all Roc Nation Boxing events, including but not limited to:
    • Work directly with key TV partners to create successful marketing and promotions strategy for all television Roc Nation Boxing events.
    • Plan and negotiate national media campaigns for A-list pay-per-view events including TV, radio, print and outdoor advertising
  • Work with venue marketing teams and local partners on ticket sales marketing strategy and execution
  • Creation of fight marketing opportunities and brand exposure for event sponsors, while managing on-site and digital/broadcast inventory
  • Create unique marketing and promotional opportunities for individual Roc Nation fighters
  • Ensure all sponsorship deliverables are met
  • Oversee marketing or sponsor-related events

Education & Experience Required:

  • 10-15 years related sports/marketing experience, with sports sponsorship and activation and/or entertainment agency experience
  • Well versed in athlete and/or talent relations with an ability to understand client needs/wants and translate them on a global scale
  • Must be effective team leader with high-level management skills
  • Demonstrated success in planning and execution of events on a national scale
  • Superior communication skills and level of detail orientation
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Pro­active, self­starter with ability to track multiple projects to completion
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and deliver effective turnkey solutions in a limited time frame
  • Superior knowledge of latest marketing/advertising/technology trends and understanding of consumer media consumption
