Turnkey Search congratulates Susan Darrington on her new role as Vice President, General Manager of Rogers Place in Edmonton, Ontario. Following an international search led by Turnkey, Darrington was hired away from AEG Worldwide by Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG).
According to OEG, Darrington’s responsibilities will include “bringing the venue to life, overseeing the overall management and day-to‐day operations during the pre‐ and post‐opening periods, [and] develop[ing] and implement[ing] the overall business and operating culture for the building, ensuring the highest levels of service for the fans, employees and partners.”
Prior to joining OEG, Darrington served as AEG Worldwide’s GM of Allianz Parque, a new multi-use stadium in São Paulo, Brazil.
Said OEG CEO Bob Nicholson in an announcement publicizing Darrington’s hiring, “We are thrilled to welcome Susan back to Edmonton as a part of the OEG team. She comes highly recommended and is well-respected in the venue-management industry, with a strong track record of success.” He also noted that Darrington’s first facilities job was at the city’s Northlands Coliseum where she served as an Usher at the age of 15.
